Procedures to Improve the Skin Surface - Overview

Time, genetics, and many other factors take effect and leave their traces on our skin. Nowhere are these changes more visible than on the face. As the aging process begins, the skin of the face loosens, and sags, while the texture of the skin changes as well. "Crow's feet" become evident around the eye area. Laugh lines tend to deepen, and one may notice the appearance of' fine vertical lines around the mouth. Some individuals may develop frown lines between the eyes and often times the skin appears to be weathered. Dr. Zemplenyi employs multiple procedures to ameliorate facial skin changes depending on the degree of desired change.

Laser Skin Resurfacing: A Laser can used to resurface larger areas such as the entire face in order to improve the texture, and thus to lessen the appearance of wrinkles or acne scars.

Dermabrasion: Dermabrasion can be used for smaller areas, such as limited cheek scarring.

Chemical Peels: Mildly sun damaged skin can be rejuvenated using gentler techniques such as glycolic acid ("fruity acid") or TCA (trichloroacetic acid) peeling.
