Maxillofacial Fractures, Trauma and Scarring Treatment

Facial lacerations and residual traumatic & surgical scars are treated at the Bel-Red Center for Aesthetic Surgery.  Dr. Zemplenyi recommends protection of scars from UV-A and UV-B sun rays  with appropriate sunscreens.  Color of early (young) scars may be improved using our laser and IPL fotofacial sequential treatments followed by occlusion with silicon and polyurethane gels and sheeting.  Mature scars may be helped using an excision and a meticulous plastic closure resulting in an improvement in scar width, contour, orientation and blending with surrounding skin.  Segmental laser resurfacing and limited mechanical derma-brasion play a role in this revision process. Scar revision is most commonly performed by Dr. Zemplenyi under straight local anesthesia.

Dr. Zemplenyi commonly treats various kinds of nasal fractures at at the Bel-Red Center for Aesthetic Surgery.  Twilight sedation or general anesthesia may used. Nasal packing is generally avoided thus increasing patient comfort.

Fractures of the orbit and midface are treated using an open reduction approach with fixation using rigid micro-plating under general anesthesia at Overlake Hospital. Dr. Zemplenyi feels that mandibular fractures are most-effectively treated by colleague oral surgeons who are trained as dentists and thus an extensive background in dental occlusion (proper alignment of teeth of the upper and lower jaw).

Bel-Red Center for Aesthetic Surgery has provided Plastic Cosmetic Surgery, Non-Surgical and Reconstructive procedures to satisfied patients in Bellevue, Issaquah, Kirkland, Redmond, Renton, Woodinville and other Greater Seattle / Eastside Washington locations.
